Please don't forget to record your hours for the new reporting period, which runs April 2011-March 2012!

Volunteers are welcome & highly valued at SMS.

There are many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year for parents to serve at SMS. BISD performs a criminal background check on ALL individuals volunteering for the school.

Please help us create a safe campus environment by following the basic safety procedures:

Complete a volunteer application online at BISD Volunteer Partnership. One BISD employee performs all background checks & all results are confidential. Each campus you submitted to volunteer for will be notified of your approval.
Before entering any classroom hallways, please bring your driver's license and check in at the office. Let Mrs. Hunt know where you want to go & receive a visitor sticker. This sticker must be visible to teachers and other school personnel any time during school hours. If you do not have a sticker, you may be asked to leave the building.

Please remember to log your volunteer hours for SMS through the Virtual Volunteer Site. They really do have an impact on our school & PTA, especially when applying for various grants, etc. which, in turn helps all students at SMS.
