PTA Meetings
The goal of SMS PTA is "To have a lifetime impact on every student at SMS".  Please join us in building assets for all SMS students.  The membership dues for the SMS PTA are $5.  Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles are encouraged to Join.  Each family who joins the PTA will receive a student handbook/directory.
 
There are 4 association meetings in this school year.  These meetings are held in September, November, February & April.   If you have any questions about PTA, please contact SMS PTA President, Marletta Holt: marlettah@sbcglobal.net
 
 
Activity Night

Activity Night provides an opportunity for students of Smithfield Middle School to socialize in a well-chaperoned atmosphere. Activities include music, food, carnival games, basketball & volleyball. If you are interested in volunteering as a chaperone, please contact an SMS PTA officer. 

There are 3 scheduled Activity Nights during the school year beginning with the "Back to School Bash".  Activity Night is from 6:30pm - 8:30pm PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILDREN PROMPTLY AT 8:30pm.

Once students have entered the building for Activity Night, they will not be allowed to leave until 8:30pm unless a parent comes inside to pick them up.

Tickets may be purchased during lunch on the week of Activity Night for $5 or at the door.  Concessions are available for purchase. 

 

 

Box Tops For Education
Please clip & save all General Mills & Betty Crocker products containing "labels for education" coupons & earn $$$ for SMS.  Please place them in the box located in the office.

 F.C.A. - Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an organization that meets on Friday mornings at & a.m..  You do not have to be in athletics to be a part of this organization.  The group has guest speakers who share inspirational encouragements  F.C.A. usually has several activities throughout the year.
 
 High on Life - A service organization dedicated to making life better for self & others through listening, learning & educating others.  This organization encouages having fun without the use of alcohol and drugs & helping others be the best they can be.  High in Life is open to 7th & 8th students only & meetings are held once a month before & after school.
 
 S.W.A.P. - Students with a purpose is a student community service clud dedicated to making students aware of the needs of the community around them, providing opportunities to serve in the community & celebrating the efforts of its members.  S.W.A.P. is open to students grades 6-8.  Students must apply for membership.  New members must sign & agree to abide by a strict code of conduct.  SWAP members are expected to lead not only in the community but also in the classroom & school.  Members of SWAP have the opportunity to participate in periodic group service projects, including food drives, school beautification, visiting homeless shelters & painting the homes of needy Fort Worth residents.  Members also choose their own projects to complete & keep records of the hours they serve.  At the end of the year, students will be recognized for their efforts, both individually & through the organization.
 
 National Junior Honor Society - Membership in the SMS chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed upon individual students by the faculty and administration.  Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, character and service.  NJHS is for 7th & 8th grade students.
 
 Rawkin Raiders - A spirit club open to 7th & 8th graders.  They attend after school games & run our pep rallies.  Contact faculty member Mrs. Rowe or PTA board member Susan Young for additional information.
